I worked for an adult store for 2 years so I think I can answer this pretty honestly with a No, they do not.
That was my job, selling sex toys, I was around them every day, helped countless people. I couldn’t have cared less what someone bought.
People that were judgmental just didn’t last long, usually not more than a week. Either they couldn’t cut it, or we would make sure they moved on to another job.
Most people that continue to work at an adult store (I can’t speak for Spencer’s) do so because they like the job. My favorite thing was helping people. Sex has such a stigma in this country, and I loved working at a place where I knew someone could come and ask questions and not be judged.
The only people we tended to judge were jerks or judgmental ass-holes. If you came in a jack*ss, or were loudly judgy, that was a different thing. Or if you wanted advice on how to “trick” someone (yes, that happened), then we judged the hell out of you.
But frankly most people and their purchases were forgotten almost the moment they left the door. It’s like working any retail, you just see so many people and products you don’t remember it all.
It was my favorite job.
